Caribbean Cruise - July, 2005

During the first full week of July in 2005, my very generous parents treated my wife and I, as well as my brother AJ, to our first vacation on a cruise boat.  We took some impressive shots at a few different locations.  To make it easier to explore this section of the gallery (and to decrease the loading time of each page for slower internet connections), I've divided up our shots into several albums, which you can access by clicking below.  It's important to point out as well that I've very drastically decreased the resolution quality / size of each of the shots in this album - you won't notice anything, because I've decreased each picture to the maximum resolution the average computer screen would support anyway... but if you have any special reason to really want one of these for keepsies (such as if you are a relation or friend and want one for your own album), just email me at hipius@twcny.rr.com and I'll be happy to dig out the full resolution one for you.

Album A: The Ship
Take a peek through this album to see shots a couple shots taken on the dock, on the boat, of the boat, and views from the boat.  Some of the general "story" of our cruise that doesn't fit with any other picture is here for your reading pleasure as well.
Album B: Coyaba Gardens (Ocho Rios, Jamaica)
We got plenty of fascinating shots in this beautiful park of amazing indigenous life and scenery.
Album C: Stingray City Observatory (Grand Cayman)
I'm pretty proud of the underwater shots I got in the submerged section of the glass bottom boat during our visit to this reef frequented by stingrays.
Album D: Hell (Grand Cayman)
We stopped for a moment to visit Hell and mail some postcards, and while we were there we took a few quick pictures too.  Where else could you want to go on your vacation?
Album E: Turtle Farm (Grand Cayman)
Lotsa cute turtles, at all stages of development; I've a few decent shots to share from here.  Adorable.  Just don't ask what they're raising them for.
Album F: Tulum (Mexico)
Pam and I split off from the group to visit these ancient Aztec ruins, and it was truly an amazing experience, with some great shots to show for it.
Album G: Xel-Ha Lagoon (Mexico)
Pam and I concluded our day on our own at this beautiful ecological wonder, for some outstanding sights and swimming.  I stopped before we left to take just a few shots to share the view.

Note: All photos in this gallery are in an adjusted, altered format from the originals, in order to conserve disk space on the server.  If you would like a copy of the original, higher quality file, maybe because you or someone you know is in any of these pictures, or maybe just because you're a little strange, email me and I'll do my best to accommodate any reasonable and non-spooky requests.

Oh, yah, one other note.  We're pretty loose about who does the shooting... I don't personally take credit for all these shots, as it isn't unusual at all for Pam or one of our friends to fire off a few too... just to be ethical about everything (Do you REALLY want me taking all the shots?  Didn't think so.).
